MediaMatrix® Launches sTouch™ 7 Touch-Screen Controller

MediaMatrix®, a Peavey Commercial Audio® brand, introduces the sTouch™ 7 Touch-Screen Controller. Featuring a Power over Ethernet (PoE) 7-inch diagonal IP65-compliant intelligent touch screen, the sTouch 7 provides a rich graphical user interface that can be tailored to support any control and monitoring requirement.

The sTouch 7 offers an improved user experience with its functional and responsive Projective Capacitive (PCAP) anti-UV, anti-glare touch control interface. The screen has a resolution of 1024 x 600 and a 16:9 aspect ratio, as well as brightness of 500 cd/m2 and a 700:1 contrast ratio. An Apollo Lake Intel® Celeron® processor (2 MB cache, up to 2.4 GHz) provides ample capacity, while supporting the robust Windows 10 IoT Enterprise industrial operating system. Onboard M.2 SSD storage of 32GB plus 4GB DDR3L RAM are included. A silent convection cooled operation keeps the unit running optimally.

The sTouch 7 enables network connectivity via two GbE RJ45 network interfaces or optional selected Wi-Fi supporting IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/b/ac. Multiple USB-2 and USB-3 ports (two each) allow for general purpose control and monitoring that’s fully supported by PCA’s award-winning MediaMatrix nWare™ and Kiosk2Go™ audio-video and control software suite.

To support remote configuration across the connected network, the sTouch 7 can be powered over ethernet from a single cable drop connected to a PoE-capable network switch supporting IEEE 802.3at on-board or an equivalent power injector. Alternatively, the unit can be powered from an external universal 12V DC – 3A power supply. A power switch and reset button are included on the back-panel controls.

Weighing just 1.6 pounds unpackaged, the sTouch 7 can be easily installed with VESA mount points and separately purchased accessories, including a wall/surface mount, desktop stand, and a 19-inch equipment distribution frame.

With its clean, modern design, sharp 16:9 high-resolution display, control processing capabilities, and flexible mounting options, the MediaMatrix sTouch 7 Touch-Screen Controller provides the end user with a rich graphical user interface and a control engine that can cater to a variety of applications.

MediaMatrix® Introduces sControl™ Network Control Processor

MediaMatrix® introduces the sControl™ network control processor. The new sControl is an industrial grade network control processor preloaded with the MediaMatrix award-winning nWare™ platform and Control Manager™ software, providing a full open-architecture control server for audio visual control and monitoring functionality typically required for large and enterprise mission-critical networked media public address and control systems. Built for hosting extensive control, performance and health status monitoring and connectivity of practically any network connected device, the sControl acts as the control center of the entire audio visual system allowing multiple network connected control interfaces running MediaMatrix Kiosk™ windows based control and/or using the HTML 5 supported Kiosk2Go™ app loaded on any Android or Apple smart phone or tablet with a browser.

Representing the brains of the control and monitoring system, sControl is designed to work in conjunction with the NION® series and next generation of digital signal processors (DSPs), Peavey Commercial Audio networkable product line power amplifiers, and audio interfaces, including practically any third-party network device either locally and/or network distributed. Like its predecessor the nControl™, sControl also supports SNMP and RATC protocols, as well as Python scripting within the nWare software control environment . The sControl operating system resides on 64 GB mSATA SSD storage media, has a 4 GB DDR3L 1866 memory (RAM), and includes support for reading/writing data from the operating system and configuration software. The control processing system includes USB ports for direct control and configuration, and dual gigabit Ethernet ports.

Where typical fanned solutions fail, the sControl thrives thanks to its hardshell fanless technology, which resists dust, metal shavings, and other debris often found in industrial environments.

MediaMatrix® Offers New sDAB™ Series of Networkable Digital Audio Bridges

PA reliable connection is the foundation of any pro-audio setup, and the new sDAB™ series of networkable digital audio bridges from MediaMatrix®, a Peavey Commercial Audio® brand, are here to provide rock-solid connection and distribution. The sDAB series of devices are break-in/break-out, rack mountable, and allow for the expansion of audio I/O from sDAB to sDAB, or via the MediaMatrix family of DSPs. No matter the specificity of the input and/or output configuration, there is an sDAB bridge to meet the challenge.

Five sDAB pre-configured models are available, supporting 8i x 8o, 16i, 16o, plus special-order 16i x 16o and 32o configurations, respectively. All models supporting balanced mic/line level inputs have a level range from -60 to +24 dBu, with software switchable +48V phantom on each input. All models with balanced line level outputs allow for up +24 dBu increase. Additionally, each audio i/o connection allows for quick hook-up and connectivity utilizing 3.81 mm phoenix/euroblock connectors, each with individual plus (+), minus (-), and ground (G).

The sDAB series of networkable digital audio bridges support Dante™ and/or AES67 audio-over-IP, with control and monitoring via the award-winning nWare™ software suite. Control and monitoring can also be managed by using the built-in Web UI allowing for sDAB to sDAB audio routing and distribution together with control and monitoring from the standalone web server browser-pages. Dual RJ-45 network jacks provide for steaming audio and control over Ethernet supporting redundant or switched mode configuration as well as being Dante Domain Manager ‘DDM’ ready.

For clear monitoring and visibility, RGB front-panel LEDs, two per channel, provide metering and streaming status at a sample rate of 44.1, 48, or 96 kHz at 32-bit A/D and D/A conversion (AES-67 at 48 kHz ) All sDAB models feature a 25-pin GPIO (General Purpose Input Output) ‘D’ connector for digital, and dry contact closure connectivity. The GPIO also allows for an optional DIN rail mounting system called the GPIO-25 (ordered separately) for efficient rack wiring and service. The unit is powered via a built-in universal 90 to 260 AC power supply with optional 12V DC redundancy, for mission critical applications.

Peavey Commercial Audio® Announces New UK Sales Strategy

Peavey Commercial Audio® announces that moving forward, the company will handle its own sales and consulting for its commercial audio division in the United Kingdom. These core functions were handled previously by the company’s UK distribution partner, Barnes & Mullins, which will continue to distribute the Peavey® line of musical instruments and live sound products. By embarking on this new sales strategy, PCA and B&M will create new and exciting opportunities and maximize the reach of Peavey’s state-of-the-art products and solutions.

“As we move into a new decade which poses a modern set of challenges, we are excited to be addressing the UK market directly again and working closer with consultancy and integration businesses for fixed installation systems,” said James Kennedy, PCA EMEA Operations Manager. “With Barnes & Mullins concentrating on the live entertainment sectors, we believe that both B&M and PCA can specialize, utilizing their strengths in each respective market.”

The new strategy comes as Peavey Commercial Audio and Barnes & Mullins approach the three-year anniversary of their initial distribution deal, which added PCA’s full product range to B&M’s offering. These brands include Crest Audio®, MediaMatrix®, and the full line of Peavey professional products. Going forward, B&M will continue to market and sell Peavey sound reinforcement products and Crest Audio live performance products, including the innovative Tactus™ digital mixing system, Versarray™ MKIII and Versarray PRO powered line array systems, and the new fully featured ProTour™ multi-channel DSP/Dante amplifiers. These product lines naturally complement Barnes & Mullins’ musical instrument and back-line portfolio, which completes the concert and touring offering from B&M, a company celebrating its 125th anniversary this year.

MediaMatrix^® is pleased to announce that its NION^® Series of digital signal and control processors (DSPs) and nCIE PILOT® control PC are now certified by the EN54-16 European Standard. These components form the nucleus of a dynamic VACIE system (Voice Alarm Control and Indicating Equipment) used to provide optimum protection for the public and for safety personnel.

The EN54 certification is a mandatory standard that specifies, requires, and laboratory tests every component of fire detection and fire alarm systems. Part 16 of the certification specifically pertains to voice alarm control and indicating equipment. The certifications of both the nCIE PILOT control PC and NION Series DSPs, respectively, speak to the industrial-grade quality of MediaMatrix equipment, as well as their stable, efficient, and robust performance.

The just-launched MediaMatrix nCIE PILOT processor, the brain of the VACIE system, manages all control and fault-monitoring logic. It also provides all control functionality to the end user through hosting the award-winning Kiosk2Go (tablet device HTML5) GUIs (graphical user interfaces) to multiple clients, which means the VACIE solution is essentially a headless system.

Additionally, the well-distinguished MediaMatrix NION Series nX, n3, and n6 DSP frames handle audio input sources, DSP processing, routing, networked and analog audio distribution, and voice alarm message playback, among other operational tasks. The VACIE system can be configured and scaled as a centralized single-rack solution, configured across multiple remote racks as a distributed solution, or positioned as a hybrid of both. The nCIE PILOT and NION frames are accompanied by a choice of Powersoft, d&b audiotechnik, or Crown networked multi-channel power amplification to meet system requirements. Belgian company Luminex has also deployed its robust and highly intuitive GigaCore 26i Ethernet switch, which manages all IP communications between devices and is also used for handling all Dante-networked audio traffic.

MediaMatrix® Launches nCIE PILOT® Industrial-Grade PC for Life-Safety VACIE

Reliable control and monitoring is everything in mission-critical life-safety systems, and the new nCIE PILOT® from MediaMatrix®, is an industrial-grade PC that’s built for the challenge. Tested and certified to the EN54-16 European Standard, the nCIE PILOT is designed to work in conjunction with the NION® Series of digital signal processors (DSPs), also EN54-16 certified, and a host of third-party devices under the MediaMatrixNWare software suite. Together, these vital components form a life-safety VACIE (Voice Alarm Control and Indicating Equipment) system that’s designed to endure the rigors of industrial environments.

As the brains of the system, the nCIE PILOT performs all logical operations for fault detection and reporting VACIE wide. Powerful Python scripting is utilized to survey and manage all 3^rd party devices within the VACIE and will alert the systems operator on the event of any system non-conformance. In addition,the PILOT hosts the graphical user interfaces for the operators through the award winning Kiosk2Go® HTML5 based MediaMatrix application. The nCIE PILOT strikes the perfect balance between energy efficiency, performance, versatility and durability making it a machine built to last. Enclosed in a ruggedized, fanless and ventless chassis the PILOT resists dust, metal shavings, and other debris that are standard hazards on manufacturing floors thanks to its HardshellFanless Technology . The fully solid-state architectureeliminates points of failure and relies on the superior design of the integrated heatsink to keep internal components cool.

Despite its small footprint, the nCIE PILOT is equipped with an array of IOs (inputs/outputs), including VGA and HDMI, and is capable of powering dual-independent displays, including one at 4K resolution. Dual-gigabit Ethernet LAN, three optional COM ports, and six USB ports, including four USB 3.0 ports, round out the available built-in connectivity. The nCIE PILOT is accompanied by an optional 2U rackmount adaptor allowing two PILOTs to be buddied together that can be configured independently or as an N+N redundant auto fail-over configuration.

MERIDIAN, MS — Peavey Commercial Audio® recently set the tone for a big year of innovation at Integrated Systems Europe, ISE 2020, the world’s largest AV and systems integration show. From Feb. 11-14 at the RAI Amsterdam, Peavey exhibited at booth 7-H200 with comprehensive offerings across multiple categories, including audio processing, audio systems and acoustics, conferencing and collaborations, media distribution, and paging and evacuation systems. Offering pro-audio solutions from its industry-leading brands, including Crest Audio® and MediaMatrix®, Peavey Commercial Audio is a one-stop shop for a multitude of venues and installations.

ISE’s evolution from a show with 3,500 attendees in 2004 to more than 81,000 visitors in 2019 speaks to the AV industry’s expansive needs. As the market has evolved over the past 15 years, so too have Peavey Commercial Audio’s solutions. This year, the company returned to highlight new systems for live performances and workplace safety.

New for this year’s show, MediaMatrix launched its nCIE PILOT® industrial-grade control and monitoring node designed to work in conjunction with the NION® series of digital signal processors.
