MERIDIAN, MS — Peavey Electronics® introduces the LN™1063 Column Array, a compact, powerful, lightweight, and low-profile portable unit. Weighing 10 pounds less than its nearest competitor, the LN1063 offers a durable design and is extremely easy to carry, amounting to an entire PA system that can be moved by one person in one trip.

The LN 1063 utilizes 500 Watts of potential maximum power, housing six 2.75-inch custom drivers for the mid-high column and a custom 8-inch driver for the subwoofer. The satellite speakers feature rugged housing and a quick attachment design that makes setup a breeze, complete with a carrying bag. The subwoofer is similarly durable and lightweight for easy and efficient load-in/out.

An onboard six-channel mixer features two combi inputs, each with the option of selecting a guitar input, making the LN 1063 the first column array designed specifically with the acoustic guitar performer in mind. Two additional media channels have stereo quarter-inch inputs, and streaming audio Bluetooth® in. A 3.5 mm input, to hook up a music player or phone, and a mix out for additional units give players all the connectivity they need. The LN 1063 delivers 120 dB maximum SPL (sound pressure level) and frequency response ranging from 55 Hz to 18 kHz.

Good things are arriving in even smaller packages, with the introduction of the sControl™ Nano, an ultra-small industry-grade network control processor from MediaMatrix®. The sControl Nano offers a robust IoT OS (internet of things operating system) pre-configured with the nWare platform ControlManager™ software suite. The software provides open-architecture control and monitoring functionality over an Ethernet data network, making the sControl Nano a cost-effective solution that’s ideal for public address, audio-visual media control, and monitoring applications.

An energy-efficient, yet powerful, Intel® Celeron® N3350 Apollo Lake processor, with HD graphics 500, forms the brain of the sControl Nano, allowing for processor-intensive applications. These vital components are enclosed in a ruggedized, IP50-rated fanless, ventless chassis that’s built to last. The sControl Nano supports MediaMatrix and Crest Audio® networkable products, including the next-generation MediaMatrix “S” series digital signal processors; I/O networkable bridges that complement video and data connectivity; and power amplifiers and audio interfaces that are either locally or network distributed, including third-party devices utilizing plugins supported by the nWare 3.0 software suite.

The sControl Nano can be custom configured as a network edge controller using nWare open-architecture programming and a control graphical user interface (GUI) design suite. Both the MediaMatrix Kiosk2Go™ and Kiosk™ GUI applications can be utilized, respectively, on any smart device supporting compatible HTML web browsers, or directly connected to an optional, supported touchscreen/monitor, as well as keyboard/mouse from the available mini-display.

Flexible and versatile, the sControl Nano features a dual-core 1.1 GHz CPU with independent graphics processor, supporting video resolutions of up to 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz via two mini-display ports, and includes two gigabit Ethernet RJ45 ports. Up to 16 network connected devices can be supported via the control software GUI suite. Two USB 3.0 and one USB 2.0 ports are also available. The sControl Nano offers 32 GB eMMC (embedded multi-media card) onboard storage and 4 GB LPDDR4 RAM (low-power double data rate). The unit is powered by 12V DC at 3A universal external power supply via DC input jack, complete with a power button and LED power indicator.

Where typical fanned solutions fail, the sControl Nano thrives thanks to its hardshell fanless technology, which resists dust, metal shavings, and other debris often found in industrial, commercial, and other demanding environments. The ultra-small unit measures approximately 4.5 inches long, 3.2 inches wide, and 1.3 inches high, with a gross weight of 4 pounds. MediaMatrix®, a Peavey Commercial Audio® brand, introduces the sTouch™ 7 Touch-Screen Controller. Featuring a Power over Ethernet (PoE) 7-inch diagonal IP65-compliant intelligent touch screen, the sTouch 7 provides a rich graphical user interface that can be tailored to support any control and monitoring requirement.

The sTouch 7 offers an improved user experience with its functional and responsive Projective Capacitive (PCAP) anti-UV, anti-glare touch control interface. The screen has a resolution of 1024 x 600 and a 16:9 aspect ratio, as well as brightness of 500 cd/m2 and a 700:1 contrast ratio. An Apollo Lake Intel® Celeron® processor (2 MB cache, up to 2.4 GHz) provides ample capacity, while supporting the robust Windows 10 IoT Enterprise industrial operating system. Onboard M.2 SSD storage of 32GB plus 4GB DDR3L RAM are included. A silent convection cooled operation keeps the unit running optimally.

The sTouch 7 enables network connectivity via two GbE RJ45 network interfaces or optional selected Wi-Fi supporting IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/b/ac. Multiple USB-2 and USB-3 ports (two each) allow for general purpose control and monitoring that’s fully supported by PCA’s award-winning MediaMatrix nWare™ and Kiosk2Go™ audio-video and control software suite.

To support remote configuration across the connected network, the sTouch 7 can be powered over ethernet from a single cable drop connected to a PoE-capable network switch supporting IEEE 802.3at on-board or an equivalent power injector. Alternatively, the unit can be powered from an external universal 12V DC – 3A power supply. A power switch and reset button are included on the back-panel controls.

Weighing just 1.6 pounds unpackaged, the sTouch 7 can be easily installed with VESA mount points and separately purchased accessories, including a wall/surface mount, desktop stand, and a 19-inch equipment distribution frame.

PA reliable connection is the foundation of any pro-audio setup, and the new sDAB™ series of networkable digital audio bridges from MediaMatrix®, a Peavey Commercial Audio® brand, are here to provide rock-solid connection and distribution. The sDAB series of devices are break-in/break-out, rack mountable, and allow for the expansion of audio I/O from sDAB to sDAB, or via the MediaMatrix family of DSPs.  No matter the specificity of the input and/or output configuration, there is an sDAB bridge to meet the challenge.

Five sDAB pre-configured models are available, supporting 8i x 8o, 16i, 16o, plus special-order 16i x 16o and 32o configurations, respectively.  All models supporting balanced mic/line level inputs have a level range from -60 to +24 dBu, with software switchable +48V phantom on each input. All models with balanced line level outputs allow for up +24 dBu increase.  Additionally, each audio i/o connection allows for quick hook-up and connectivity utilizing 3.81 mm phoenix/euroblock connectors, each with individual plus (+), minus (-), and ground (G).

The sDAB series of networkable digital audio bridges support Dante™ and/or AES67 audio-over-IP, with control and monitoring via the award-winning nWare™ software suite. Control and monitoring can also be managed by using the built-in Web UI allowing for sDAB to sDAB audio routing and distribution together with control and monitoring from the standalone web server browser-pages.  Dual RJ-45 network jacks provide for steaming audio and control over Ethernet supporting redundant or switched mode configuration as well as being Dante Domain Manager ‘DDM’ ready.

For clear monitoring and visibility, RGB front-panel LEDs, two per channel, provide metering and streaming status at a sample rate of 44.1, 48, or 96 kHz at 32-bit A/D and D/A conversion (AES-67 at 48 kHz ) All sDAB models feature a 25-pin GPIO (General Purpose Input Output) ‘D’ connector for digital, and dry contact closure connectivity. The GPIO also allows for an optional DIN rail mounting system called the GPIO-25 (ordered separately) for efficient rack wiring and service.  The unit is powered via a built-in universal 90 to 260 AC power supply with optional 12V DC redundancy, for mission critical applications.

Peavey Commercial Audio® announces that moving forward, the company will handle its own sales and consulting for its commercial audio division in the United Kingdom. These core functions were handled previously by the company’s UK distribution partner, Barnes & Mullins, which will continue to distribute the Peavey® line of musical instruments and live sound products. By embarking on this new sales strategy, PCA and B&M will create new and exciting opportunities and maximize the reach of Peavey’s state-of-the-art products and solutions.   

“As we move into a new decade which poses a modern set of challenges, we are excited to be addressing the UK market directly again and working closer with consultancy and integration businesses for fixed installation systems,” said James Kennedy, PCA EMEA Operations Manager. “With Barnes & Mullins concentrating on the live entertainment sectors, we believe that both B&M and PCA can specialize, utilizing their strengths in each respective market.”

MediaMatrix EN 54-16 CertificationMediaMatrix® is pleased to announce that its NION® Series of digital signal and control processors (DSPs) and nCIE PILOT® control PC are now certified by the EN54-16 European Standard. The EN54 certification is a mandatory standard that specifies, requires, and laboratory tests every component of fire detection and fire alarm systems. Part 16 of the certification specifically pertains to voice alarm control and indicating equipment. The certifications of both the nCIE PILOT control PC and NION Series DSPs, respectively, speak to the industrial-grade quality of MediaMatrix equipment, as well as their stable, efficient, and robust performance.

The just-launched MediaMatrix nCIE PILOT processor, the brain of the VACIE system, manages all control and fault-monitoring logic. It also provides all control functionality to the end user through hosting the award-winning Kiosk2Go (tablet device HTML5) GUIs (graphical user interfaces) to multiple clients, which means the VACIE solution is essentially a headless system.

Despite its small footprint, the nCIE PILOT is equipped with an array of IOs (inputs/outputs), including VGA and HDMI, and is capable of powering dual-independent displays, including one at 4K resolution. Dual-gigabit Ethernet LAN, three optional COM ports, and six USB ports, including four USB 3.0 ports, round out the available built-in connectivity. The nCIE PILOT is accompanied by an optional 2U rackmount adaptor allowing two PILOTs to be buddied together that can be configured independently or as  an N+N redundant auto fail-over configuration.
