MediaMatrix® Powers Up sWALL™ 2×2 Audio Network Interface Panel

MediaMatrix® Powers Up sWALL™ 2x2 Audio Network Interface Panel

MERIDIAN, MS — MediaMatrix®, a Peavey Commercial Audio® brand, introduces the sWALL™ 2×2 audio network interface panel with Dante® and AES67 audio-over-IP network compatibility. This in-wall surface mount panel is designed for fixed installation in engineered audio and communication systems, offering IT and pro-audio teams the freedom and flexibility that comes from not having to run hundreds of feet of proprietary cable to the nearest control room rack. sWALL users can instead convert their analog devices to a digital signal for transmission across a standard IP network, to mixers, speakers, and other Dante/AES67-enabled pro-audio components.

The sWALL is designed to fit commonly available NEMA 2-gang backboxes. On the input side, the analog audio channels support both microphone and line-level balanced and unbalanced audio sources. Input attenuation is automatically selected upon connecting either an XLR for microphone-level sources or a 1/4-inch TRS jack for line-level sources. Individual rotary micro switches allow input gain adjustment of up to +20dB.

Another advantage of the sWALL is the inclusion of 48V DC phantom power for high-quality condenser microphones, selectable on each channel. The interface Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) adheres to IEEE802.3af and IEEE802.3at standards. Audio from the universal XLR/TRS 1/4-inch jack input connectors is independently transmitted on the Dante or AES67 network using two separate subchannels.

On the output side, the sWALL provides up to two independent balanced audio line-level channels. Network data streamed audio subchannels are decoded and made available via the XLR output connectors. The network interface panel Ethernet port is side-mounted to ensure the connected network cable has sufficient bend radius. Remote setup of the streams is made possible using Dante Controller.

Whether used in conference rooms, banquet halls, music studios, or houses of worship, the MediaMatrix sWALL 2×2 is a universally compatible, cost-effective solution for the needs of today’s pro audio market.

Crest Audio® Tradition Continues with CPX™ Series of Power Amplifiers

Crest Audio® Tradition Continues with CPX™ Series of Power Amplifiers

MERIDIAN, MS — Crest Audio®, a Peavey Commercial Audio® brand, carries on the tradition of great sound quality, flexibility, and robustness with the continuation of the CPX™ Series of professional power amplifiers. Geared toward the needs of the touring and installation markets, the CPX Series offers versatile solutions designed to serve as the backbone of a mobile sound system, studio, and many other install applications requiring dynamically powerful yet affordable amplifiers.

The CPX Series is available in four models, the CPX 1, CPX 2 class A-B, and CPX 3, CPX 4 Class-H, with power ranging from 480W to 1,600W per channel. The amplifiers are designed to operate at line voltages as low as 50% of nominal and can drive loudspeaker circuits as low as 2 ohms per channel or 4 ohms when set to bridge mode. An exclusive Crest Audio feature of the CPX Series is the GCL™ (gain comparator limiting) system with a rear panel defeat switch. The GCL monitors input/output gain, reduces the signal when distortion or excessive high current conditions occur, and protects the loudspeakers from dangerous transients and unexpected level changes.

Beyond the GCL innovation, the CPX Series offers comprehensive audio processing capabilities, including two channel independent crossovers and a subsonic filter. The crossover frequencies are fixed at 150 Hz (CPX 1/2/3) or 100 Hz (CPX 4), allowing loudspeaker subwoofers to be driven at extremely high sound pressure levels, while the filter cuts at 40 Hz to prevent low-end rumble. The crossovers have direct outputs via heavy-duty, industry-standard connectors with THRU/LOW out and HIGH out TRS jacks. Channel output sections feature dual shock-proof binding posts (CPX 1/2/3) and four-conductor twist-lock connectors. For inputs, the CPX Series features combination XLR/¼-inch connectors with an added barrier strip for permanent installations (CPX 1/2/3).

The CPX Series front panel offers calibrated gain (dB) controls and LED indicators for power (PWR), signal presence (SIG), thermal protection, and distortion detection activation on each channel. A front panel rocker switch controls the mains power. The rear panel contains an IEC power connector, line voltage selector switch, dual primary fuses, and a two-speed DC cooling fan opening. Rounding out the robust back-panel features, the CPX Series offers the mode selector switch for stereo and bridge-mono operation, a toroidal power transformer, and a line voltage selector switch for 115V or 220V to 240V AC operation.

Each CPX Series chassis is constructed of high-quality, powder-coated sheet metal mountable within a typical 19-inch, professional equipment distribution frame.

From back to front, the CPX Series of power amplifiers are designed to meet and surpass the needs of operators, serving as a robust, feature-rich, and cost-effective amplification solution.
