Architect's & Engineer's Specifications The ceiling speaker shall be a two-way flush-mounting speaker with backcan suitable for a wide range of applications. The speaker shall be equipped with a 6.5 inch (165 mm) woofer, combined with a 1 inch (25 mm) soft dome tweeter with titanium membrane. The unit shall accept low impedance signals as well as 70 / 100 V constant voltage lines via the internal transformer with taps from 1W to 15W at 70V and 1.9W to 30W at 100V. Performance specifications of a typical production unit, measured sensitivity SPL at 1 m (3.3ft) with 2.83V input, shall be 88 dB-SPL. Usable frequency response shall extend from 80 Hz to 20 kHz (10 dB below rated sensitivity, in half-space, with no external equalization). Nominal impedance shall be 8 ohms. Rated power capacity shall be at least 50 Watts continuous power, defined as 3 dB above a test signal of filtered random noise. The enclosure shall be constructed from ABS with a steel backcan. The grille shall be of heavy-duty steel. The external wiring shall be via 4-pin srew terminal connectors. The loudspeaker shall be no more than 10.83 inches (275 mm) front face diameter and 7.84 inches (199 mm) overall depth, and shall weigh no more than 6.17 pounds (2.8 kgs). The finish shall be a painted white. The ceiling speaker shall be the Peavey PHR 630 II or approved equivalent.
